How The Companion Edit works
Every dispatch starts with a reader question and an intended use. We identify what the piece can responsibly explain, what it cannot establish remotely and which primary or professional sources can support the frame. The writing aims to leave the reader with a clearer next step, not a louder opinion.
Health and nutrition coverage is informational. We avoid diagnosis, treatment instructions and invented certainty. Where an individual examination or professional assessment is needed, the article says so in the body of the work. Training coverage favours humane, reward-based approaches and identifies when behaviour support should be case-specific.
Articles are written and edited under The Companion Edit byline. The author page describes the editorial role rather than manufacturing credentials. Dates show publication and update history. A correction may change text, sources or framing; the page metadata records the update date when the change is substantive.
Sources
We prioritise veterinary associations, animal-welfare organisations, public guidance and original documents. The Sources page lists the recurring reference set, while each relevant article names the links used for its focus.
Corrections
Email [email protected] with a URL, the exact concern and supporting evidence. We distinguish factual corrections from editorial disagreement and keep the response proportionate to the issue.
Independence
